What is the Patronopolis?
The Patronopolis is a community of donors helping to support Amy's work-in-progress. Understanding that art-making takes time, space, and freedom, they are helping to underwrite the hours she spends in her studio, composing new work.
The Patronopolis is also a new concept in arts funding, in which old-school patronage
is wedded to the grassroots, community-powered energy of the web to support
individual artists, as described in the slightly wacky video below.
Amy launched the Patronopolis on Earth Day this year (April 22). Over 140 members have donated over $8,000 so far.
Currently, Patronopolis funds are supporting these projects.
